How often should I have my rugs cleaned?

As a general rule, rugs in a well-used area like the family room or entry need to be cleaned and rotated annually. Rugs in a secondary area like a bedroom office can wait to be done every other year. If you have pets, your rugs should be cared for at least once a year – more often if your pet has accidents.

Do you need to take my rugs out of the house to be cleaned?

Rugs need special attention during the cleaning process, and more steps are taken to safely clean a rug. We use lots of water, special equipment, and custom made cleaning products designed specifically for all different types of area rugs. To treat them like wall-to-wall carpet, using carpet cleaning equipment and high pH chemicals is damaging to rug fibers and dyes.

Do you charge extra for pick-up and delivery?

Dooley’s Rug Care offers FREE pick-up and delivery within Lauderdale County.

Extra charges will apply for furniture moving on pick-up and/or delivery and on trips made to locations outside of Lauderdale County.

Do I need a rug pad?

The short answer is YES. Rug pads act like a shock absorber under foot, protecting the foundation from wear, and help protecting floor underneath the rug. A rubberized pad will help keep rugs from shifting underfoot. Quality rug pads last between 3-5 years. Old rug pads become thin and weak, or their rubberized backing may stick to your floors. Replace them when they need it!

Are rug repairs expensive?

Some repairs can be expensive, but most are very affordable! Our repair team in Jackson, MS will provide you with a free estimate offering different options at different price-points. We cannot guess the price over the phone, or even using photos. The rug needs to come in for an accurate quote. We can’t always guarantee a perfect color match, but we’ll do our best to get as close as possible. Some repairs may be visible, especially on the back side of the rug.
