Pre-Inspection

When rugs come in for cleaning, we perform a very detailed pre-inspection in a designated, well-lit area of our shop. We look for things such as wear and tear damage, pet and pest damage, and we test for dye stability – especially when there is existing pet urine damage, or visible signs of color migration.

Dry Soil Removal

Removing the loose, particulate soils prior to cleaning is a very important part of our success on the wash floor! If too much dirt is left in the rug, it turns to mud when the rug gets wet! Our dusting methods are carefully tailored to the needs of each rug, because no two rugs are the same.

Rug Cleaning / Washing

Every rug is unique. That’s why our cleaning process is unique to each rug. Rather than use a one-size-fits-all tub that ultimately co-mingles and cross-contaminates rugs, every rug is washed individually, one at a time, in a manner that is best for each piece.

**Pet / Accident Odor Removal (Guaranteed*)**

We understand that the pet-related odors that get trapped in your rugs can be a major source of embarrassment. The oils from their skin and urine or feces from occasional accidents leave unsanitary bacteria behind that cannot be removed with vacuuming.

*Our pet accident odor removal process is guaranteed on all hand knotted and machine-made rugs when our suggested protocol is followed. Tufted rugs are excluded from this guarantee.

Protection & Prevention

Wool / Fabric / Stain Protector

Give your rugs and other textiles a chance against spills, soil, and stains! Protectors allow for a 10-15 minute window in which to remove a spill or stain. Protectors need to be re-applied after your rug is washed or other textile has been cleaned. Professional application ensures the best possible result. We can apply protector to your rugs, carpet, and upholstery. Just ask!

Moth Treatment

Call us if you suspect moth activity in your rugs. We’ll come inspect, contain and remove your infested rugs, and will work with you to determine the best course of action to get ahead of the moth problem. If your rugs have been damaged, our repair team will look at your rugs after they have been washed. If you are storing your rugs away for an extended period of time, have us apply a preventative moth treatment before wrapping them up for you.

Rug Pad / Cushion

A quality rug pad protects your rug from wear, provides a cushioned feeling under foot, and helps to protect your floors. Rug pads have a 3-5 year life span and should be replaced when necessary to keep them functioning properly. Pet stained rug pads should be replaced more often. Have us custom cut a new rug pad to fit the size and shape of your rug.

Wrapping / Shipping / Storage

Rugs being shipped or put into storage need to be bundled and wrapped properly in order to protect against grime, handling during shipping, and insects or other nesting pests. Rugs and textiles cleaned at our facility must be picked up or returned within 30 days from the date of completion of services. Anything left longer than 30 days may incur a monthly penalty unless other arrangements have been made with us. We do not provide on-site storage.

Repair & Special Care

Dye Migration

When over-the-counter spot cleaning products have damaged your rug, or if pet stains have caused permanent bleeding or dye migration, we are often able to save textiles that might otherwise be headed to the trash. Have us assess the damage and get you a quote to repair the dyes.

Pick-up / Delivery

Dooley’s offers FREE pick-up and delivery within Lauderdale County. Extra charges will apply for moving furniture on pick-up and/or delivery.

Rug Repair / Restoration

Damaged corners and side cords, small holes and patches, and everyday wear and tear are some of the things we fix every day. If our repair team can’t do it, our trusted master weaver in Pittsburgh can! Large scale weaving projects and other fine repairs are done off-site. We will facilitate the estimate and shipping for you.

Fringe Repair / Replacement

Because the fringes of your rug lay out flat, they are very susceptible to wear and erosion. When they wear down to the body of the rug, it’s not long until rows of colorful knots start slipping out! Our repair team is able to secure frayed ends and either replace or reweave missing fringes. This will keep your rugs from becoming unraveled, and will keep them looking great.
